From Cruise Port: Hobart
Wilderness, waterfalls & wildlife await you on this spectacular experience taking in Tasmania's unique nature and natural attractions - all just a short drive (1.5 hours) from Hobart city.
Departing the port we head first to Mt. Field National Park. This offers an introduction to Tasmania's spectacular forests and tall trees with around 1.5 hours of easy walking trails for us to explore.
An easy and enjoyable walk along a beautiful forest track takes us to the famous and photogenic 3 tiered Russell Falls. For the energetic you can continue a short but uphill walk to Horseshoe Falls before returning back to re-join the group as we complete the Russell Falls walk.
We continue along the Tall Trees Track where towering above us (80 plus metres) are the huge "Swamp Gums" - the giants of the forest. Further along, we enter the quiet and peaceful alpine region of the National Park. We walk the Pandani Trail where the unique flora dates back to gondwanan days.
Relax in the beautiful National Park surrounds for a picnic (at own cost) before we make our way to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary.
Bonorong Wildlife Park offers an opportunity to get up close and personal with Tasmanian devils, wombats, kangaroos and a host of other local animals. We spend 45 minutes here so you can enjoy the animals at your leisure.
Then its time to depart Bonorong and return to Hobart where we will return you to the Hobart wharf in plenty of time to join the ship.
Please note that children under 5 are not permitted to travel.

Why the minimum child age requirement?
Some reasonable fitness levels will be needed. We suggest that children who are happy to walk the park tracks only come, so a minimum age of 12 is suggested. They will love the wildlife at the park especially.
We understand the weather can change quite quickly in Tasmania.
Yes, due to our location in the southern pacific ocean, the weather systems can change quickly throughout the day. We do travel inland to higher ground so we suggest some warm and waterproof clothing is brought, even on a summers day, best to be prepared.
Lunch is not provided but you mention a picnic in the tour itinerary.
Yes, we will have chance to stop on the way to the Mt Field national park so you can buy something that suits you for our picnic, everyone has different tastes so we let you choose what you want, this is at your cost.
How do I meet the guide when we arraive?
The guide can be found a short 5 minute walk from the cruise pier at the Information Centre. If you do not want to walk there are free shuttle buses that are provided to take you to the Information Centre. Full meeting details will be printed on your voucher once the tour has been confirmed. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time or as soon as possible should the ship arrive later than the scheduled departure time.
